Research
Some of my PhD. work is practical in nature, applying time-driven activity-based costing and process mining to clinical and organizational data, aimed at health economics, management and services outlets. The majority of my work is theory driven, and is concerned with the datafication of clinical and managerial data, the shifting accountabilities of medical managers and clinicians, and the behavioural dynamics of accounting technologies within healthcare organizations. My theory driven work features a variety of theoretical perspectives from multiple paradigms:
- Practice Theory (Schatzki), which bridges individualism and collectivistic/social perspectives on human behavior and social phenomena
- Relational ontologies, namely Agential Realism (Barad) and Actor-Network Theory, with a focus on sociomaterial practices and apparatusses
- Individualism, in the form of Self-Determination Theory
